Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland is not only one of our favourite classic literature, it’s also a theme that is very close to our hearts. We’ve gone bonkers for this whimsical Down The Rabbit Hole themed dessert bar and Mad Hatter’s Tea Party inspired kids table for Bhavya’s 5th Birthday. It was absolutely lovely working with mum, Ruby. With years of experience organising her own stylish parties, she has done an amazing job putting together Bhavya’s party and sourcing the magnificent cake, desserts and party favours. It was our absolute pleasure to be part of this special celebration.
We painted the party with splashes of sweet Magenta, Purple and Blue candy colours, setting the tone with the striped ribbon backdrop and adding greens and bits of yellow in the decorations for eye popping contrast. We used a mix of big and small tea cups, moss green bunny rabbits, vintage clocks, giant chess pieces and old books laid out on the green earthy turf to bring the Down The Rabbit Hole experience on the table. We carried the colourful styling across the kid’s table and we added a personal touch with some framed custom artwork and hand made hat accessories. The flowers popping here and there prettied up the venue and added another dimension of quirkiness to the party. The custom artwork and playful paper designs was a lot of fun – the framed quotes on the kids table, dessert labels, party signs and little “Drink Me” and Eat Me” tags. The kids loved the colourful sweets and the guests were all amazed by that 3 tiered Alice in Wonderland themed cake and all the creatively detailed cookies, cupcakes and cake pops.
