A&K provided the dessert bar for the Macquarie University Faculty of Art Christmas Party with over 200 guests including staff and students. The food was amazing, presentation lovely and service friendly and professional. The value for money is great and they are able to work within any budget and are very accommodating. We had a selection of mini cupcakes, cake pops, fruit skewers, macaroons and other sweet treats with a rustic Aussie theme. So many staff commented on how great everything looked and tasted which was confirmed within an hour when every tray and bowl had been cleaned out (will have to order a bit more next year!). We are so in love with this Festive Christmas dessert buffet we styled for Macquarie University Faculty of Arts’ End of Year Party.
We wanted the Faculty of Arts’ Christmas dessert table to really feel like Christmas without the cliche, to look elegant and formal but still have that warm and colourful Festive Spirit. So we went with a Rustic Luxe style using rustic textures and natural tones juxtaposed with luxurious materials with a bit of glam. The colour palette we used is brown, cream, white with gold and silver accents, and the colours red and green for contrast. The neutral and earthy tones came from the wooden furniture, tree stump and wooden risers, wicker baskets, burlap fabric and in the flavours of the desserts themselves (vanilla, caramel, chocolate etc.) The silver and gold from our elegant table ware and serving platters added the touch of Christmas magic & glam to the rustic table. The reds and greens from the grapes, strawberries and the glossy fruit tarts provided the vibrant Christmas colours and a visual feast for the guests.
We styled two dessert tables in the Rustic Luxe style, each with a different centrepiece: an abundant fruit buffet in a 3 tier galvanised metal stand and a Macaron tower standing on tree stump risers. We wanted both tables to have a Christmas tree in the middle but with a Modern Rustic Luxe twist. We used traditional Christmas decors of Poinsettia flowers, Reindeer figurine, Christmas balls, acorns, wreathe and ribbons together with a mix of sleek and shabby tableware. The framed Christmas artwork and the hand written dessert labels added warmth and a personal touch.
With this Christmas dessert table being our last event styling for 2014, we went all out and gave it all our love to show how much we enjoy what we do and how grateful we are to all the people who let us be a part of special occasions such as this. We want to take this opportunity to Thank all our new and loyal clients who shared their special moments with us and also all our friends and suppliers whom we had the pleasure to work with in 2014.
