Making people happy, bringing families and friends together and celebrating life are the reasons why we do what we do as A&K and love it. But beyond being happy makers and party lovers, we wouldn’t be who we are and where we are now if it wasn’t for our family. So to celebrate the birthday of our mum Dolly and sister Athena, we put together a special afternoon tea to share with family and friends. After all, it is our dear Mama Dolly who taught us to share happiness, to love friends like family and to treat everyone as friends.
It was indeed a family affair hosted by Athena in the backyard of her home. Spring is the theme of the day and our styling is a celebration of flowers. We designed a pretty white lacy curtain backdrop with the floral details and a hanging white chandelier to frame our dessert table. The beautiful naked cake, baked with love by our dear brother Akey of Chef A’s weekend Kitchen, was the centrepiece featured in our elegant gold cake stand. We used our Royal Albert pastel tea set and Christina Re vintage inspired collection to serve the teas and pastries. These beautiful china are so exquisitely designed that they were more than enough to decorate the guest table.
We’ve had the pleasure to be a part of many parties and events celebrating other people’s special moments. This afternoon tea is one for us.
